It's not raining men; It's just raining..

I don't know about you but where I live there are about three hours in the whole day when it isn't raining (this may be an overstatement but it feels like just the opposite!). I can't say that I'm not used to it though. I love the rain and can't say that I'm not prepared for it, seeing as I grew up with this weather. Currently I'm wrapped up in a blanket with my flannel snowflake pajama pants on from Old Navy, drinking a nice warm cup of peppermint hot chocolate whilst blogging. I figured this was a golden opportunity to write about what to wear when you are absolutely freezing your butt off. Whether you're in your own home or wishing you were, here are some comfortable and stylish tips to staying cozy and cute in the (very slow and long) winter. First off, don't be afraid to layer. You would be surprised what a huge difference a simple camisole under your t-shirt or leggings under your jeans will do for you temperature wise. Next off, always wear a nice fleece sweatshirt or wool sweater underneath your thick winter coat. Finish with cute gloves, a fuzzy scarf, and if you think you can pull it off a fun hat! You'll look super fashionable and you'll feel smart for being nice and warm.
Cute boots and socks!

Great army jacket!
Incase you were missing a winter fashion statement I recommend bright colored winter boots! ( I love these red ones!)

Or if you really love the classic black boot go with a fun colored coat!

Motorcycle Me

I am so in love with boots its a crime.  I mean most girls die for shoes but my ultimate favorites are boots and living in Oregon (a puddle of a state) it fits that boots are my go to shoe! I have all sorts of boots, leather boots heeled boots, suede boots, lace up boots, ugg boots ( if you live in a rainy place and own a pair of uggs I recommend strongly buying the water proofing spray, it only costs $10 and its so worth it!) slip on boots, studded boots, boots that ARE comfy and boots that I WISH were comfy. But lately it seems that motorcycle boots and lace up booties have been attention grabbing. Not to mention they can be worn with a dress or skinny jeans! Which is all the more reason to buy a pair, the more versatile the more you need them I always say.

Here are some good motorcycle boots that aren't too expensive, plus there's a good sale going on right now!

Here are some floral booties I just adore! These booties are a bit harder to pull off, but if the outfit is put together the right way it will look amazing. These (as well as the moto boots) can be worn with tights and a dress or skinny jeans and a leather jacket. There really are unlimited possibilities.

The perfect example of toning down the roughness of the
black leather with a fairy summer dress!
Here are three great examples of motorcycle boots!

Hey all you fashionistas!

Not sure what to wear for that holiday party? Well, I'm here to help you out! First, lets start off with a nice warm jewel tone. The color that suits your personality as well as colors that flaunt your hair and skin tone are the best choices. Next, choose your accessories wisely! If you're wearing a dressy top and jeans go for a statement necklace, if you're wearing a shimmery cocktail dress go for more demure, simple options. (Don't forget, if you wear a silver dress your jewelry needs to be silver as well!)

The perfect cold night's cocktail dress!
Kim Kardashian nailed the look!

If the event is more casual, consider wearing a vintage
looking jeans jacket over your sparkly mini-dress. It will bring out your boho
side and make you feel comfortable! Another tip to make your holiday event less
dressy is by leaving your hair down and going natural with your eye make-up.

Just the right amount of sparkle!

When choosing your accessories be sure to go bold if you have a plain dress. If you're wearing a patterned ensemble go with simple solid colored accessories. But don't be afraid to mix patterns once in a while! Be fearless with fashion, wear what makes you feel good and the most important rule of all of fashion is be yourself wear things that you love.

What's vintage, wet and adorable?

These suits! But since we haven't been able to buy these replicas for a while, I guess we'll have to settle with these almost identical ones, ohh and did I mention they have patterned suits now? And what's that mod cloth fairy? They're on sale now? Looks like your debit card has a date with the inter-web tonight! http://www.modcloth.com/shop/swimwear

Locally Grown

In Portland we're all about local, everyone wants everything they eat, drink or wear to be from Portland. Here is the hip new thing in Portland (purse wise of course)

Girly or Grungy?

(She gets points for the cute tights!)
I'm seriously loving cutesy patterns and grunge leather. It's so Alice in Wonderland meets Alice Cooper. I've been looking through several pictures of the combination but like usual I'll only share my favorites. The angle of the first photograph is very hip, I really like the blurry out of focus effect as well.

I love the shortness of the dress paired with the long sleeved jacket, the polkadots are really fun and the biker jacket makes it look really tough and edgy.
(The belt helps define proportion!)

Sweater For Your Thoughts?

I am so in love with this sweater. I wish I could own it in every color, don't you? http://www.polyvore.com/vanessa_bruno_athé_crew_neck/thing?id=54773038
Nail art! Let's embrace the fact that sometimes plain red just doesn't cut it! If that's the case then add polka dots or flowers or hearts whatever you choose, may it be fabulous!

Fabulous Finds!

(excuse the reflection)
Breaking news! Another trend to be fall ready is... *drum roll* OXFORDS! Yes, we did all see it coming but not like this. Recently Steve Madden put out a line of boyish oxfords that had a bit of a girly twist. I immediately rushed out to purchase my very own pair, of course. Another wonderful find, that was given to me by my grandmother is this adorable little black patent leather satchel. I cannot wait  until I can use it for a night on the town. Enjoy!
(This skirt was also given to me as a birthday present from my aunt, it's Paris)

Do We Look Fat in This?

Yes, I know how cliche. I can't help but notice that it seems to be a recurring theme: Matching Couples! This particular couples outfit I didn't notice right off the bat, but later on I did in fact notice these dynamic duos are not the first to be spotted wearing very similar ensembles! I did some research and found out that the more time you spend with someone you are close too, the more traits you give and receive. For example speech patterns sometimes get effected but a lot of the time fashion is one of the first things to change. It changes based on what the two of you feel when you are together and how relaxed the relationship is, it also has a lot to do with knowing each other. I find this fascinating and will probably be posting more of this soon

This couple is quite the royal pair, wouldn't you say?
